We offer you the opportunity to contribute your own ideas and actively become involved in shaping the future of our company.Your ResponsibilitiesExamine intermediate to complex property & casualty claims including coverage interpretation, loss evaluation, setting and adjusting reserves in accordance with company guidelines, effecting payments accurately and efficiently Retain and instruct vendors as appropriate (independent adjusters, lawyers, experts) Maintain concise file documentation and meet internal reporting requirements Identify subrogation, contribution and other recovery issues and ensure that these are pursued where appropriate Oversee TPA/MGA referrals on coverage and claims exceeding delegated authority, providing control and direction to ensure resolution of claims in a timely mannerAttend settlement conferences, mediation and pre-trials as required either virtually or in-person Liaise, collaborate and maintain good relationships with the underwriting team, submitting risk information where appropriateEncourage an inspired team environment with an open communication culture Participate in team projects/assignments as neededYour ProfileMinimum of 5 years claims related experience with an emphasis on Property claims Post-secondary education – University Degree or College Diploma; CIP designation or in latter stage of completion General working knowledge of claims investigation, policy wordings/coverage, insurance contracts, legal statutes and procedures Positive solution-oriented attitude Team oriented and willing to participate in team discussions Excellent time management skills Proficient in use of Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word & Outlook) Excellent oral and written English communication skills Working knowledge of French and/or German considered an asset Ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced team environmentHDI Global Specialty SE Canadian Branch welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities.
