About the Opportunity TRUE is currently seeking a Civil or Mechanical EIT to join our Kamloops office. This individual’s primary role will be to provide engineering support to the mechanical and process departments on a variety of projects located in municipalities throughout BC. This position is considered a civil engineering role, however, requires an aptitude for mechanical components and process engineering. This role would involve working on such projects as booster stations, PRV stations, lift stations, wastewater treatment plants, water treatment plants, distribution and collection systems, etc. As such, this role requires a varied, yet specific skillset. The Civil/Mechanical EIT will report directly to the mechanical department leads and provide engineering support as necessary. While the specific role will depend on the individual’s experience and interests, some responsibilities may include the following: Work alongside the mechanical and process departments throughout the planning, design, and construction phases of a project Complete design calculations Write technical memo’s and reports Compile tender and contract documents Complete site inspections (including travel throughout BC) and coordinate with contractors Utilization of AutoCAD Civil 3D to complete drafting and design tasks including creation of site grading plans, piping networks, mechanical systems and components for water and wastewater infrastructure with plan and profiles Working with diverse teams of Professional Engineers, EITs, surveyors, and technologists Why TRUE? About You Our ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications, strengths, and interests: Graduate of a Civil Engineering program and enrolled as an Engineer in Training (EIT) with EGBC Proficiency with or ability and willingness to learn AutoCAD Civil 3D Strong mechanical aptitude is an asset with keen attention to detail Goal and detail oriented with ambition for continuous improvement and increased responsibility Strong written English and verbal communication skills An outgoing, positive personality with client-driven perspective Meet deadlines and work efficiently and professionally on multiple projects simultaneously Committed, eagerness to learn, dependable and willingness to work extra hours when necessary Excellent organization and planning skills Class 5 Drivers License is required About TRUE TRUE has provided engineering, land surveying and planning consulting services to our municipal, First Nation and private clients throughout the interior of British Columbia since 1986.
