This approach, along with our extreme work ethic, makes us a service provider of choice for many clients.Based in Sudbury, ON, the Civil Engineering Technician will report to the Project Manager, Engineering and will have a wide range of duties which ultimately focus on the on-site review & documentation of Land Development and Linear Infrastructure projects. You will be part of a team that provides solutions in a diverse range of engineering, including Municipal, Transportation, Environmental, Drainage and Stormwater Management.What You’ll Do:As part of the TULLOCH Engineering team, you will: Perform on-site construction inspections of Civil Engineering designs to ensure general conformity with engineered drawings and specificationsProvide Contract Administration support to the Project Manager for various Civil Engineering projects including: chairing progress meetings, preparing meeting minutes, reviewing shop drawing submittals, and preparing change management documentationMaintain diligent records of on-site activities for each unique project, including accurate field reports, photo inventories, and any documents required for Engineering CertificationComplete quantity takeoffs and Engineering cost estimatesAssist with project tenderingCommunicate subject matter effectively to the ConstructorCollaborate with the Engineering team to prepare detailed Engineering drawings, as requiredApply AutoCAD Civil 3D to prepare: Lot Grading Plans, Site Servicing Plans, Site Grading & Drainage Plans, Erosion & Sediment Control Plans, Road Plan & Profile Drawings, Cut & Fill Plans, etc., as requiredPlease note that this job description is not meant to be an all-inclusive statement of every duty and responsibility that will ever be required of an employee in the job.Who You Are: You have 5+ years experience working in a Civil Engineering Technician roleOACETT C.E.T or C. Tech. designation is considered an assetYou can use surveying equipment, including but not limited to: site level, rotary laser, GPS rover, and Total StationYou can utilize the Portable Nuclear Gauge for compaction testing and are willing to complete associated trainingYou have knowledge in the use of AutoCAD Civil 3D softwareYou are proficient in MS Office SuiteYou have familiarity with the Construction ActYou are willing to travel for site inspections and fieldworkYou are trusted and provided freedom to work independently but also contribute to the overall team success What You Should Bring:The ideal candidate will hold a degree or diploma from a Civil Engineering Technology or Technician program.
