Job Description We are currently searching for a Civil Engineering Technologist to join the Technical Services team in our Edmonton office.The successful candidate will work with engineers and other technologists to provide design and drafting services in accordance with company and client standards. The work will be performed for a variety of public and private sector clients with a focus on infrastructure projects, including roads, drainage, storm water management, water mains, sewers and related civil surface works.As the ideal candidate, you are an excellent communicator with effective organizational skills and leadership potential, who is capable of efficiently managing multiple tasks while meeting project deadlines and thrives in a dynamic work environment. Your abilities will be strengthened and grown through a range of projects focused on the delivery of infrastructure projects in Northern Alberta. Job Requirements What you will bring:• A diploma in civil engineering or engineering design and drafting from an accredited technical institution. • Registered, or eligible for registration with ASET. • 10+ years experience in AutoCAD, and Civil 3D relative to civil surface or underground projects is preferred, including: o Awareness of the core aspects of Civil3D including surfaces, alignments, profiles, grading, corridors, and how they interact with each other in a dynamic workflow. o Able to import surveys and create a surface. o Create alignments and profiles. o Compare surfaces to determine volume.• Must provide a full range of experience in all forms of civil related design and drafting, including earthworks, utility piping, surface drainage, roadways, in both rural and urban municipal settings.• Ability to complete the work using pre-determined CAD standards and templates and produce a set of construction drawings or figures.• Proficiency in MS office software applications such as Word and Excel.• Excellent written and oral communication skills.• Excellent organizational and time management skills.• Committed team player and the ability to work independently.• Potential opportunity to take on field construction assignments to monitor construction activity or be a survey assistant. • Possesses a valid driver’s license.• Ability to travel within Alberta.
