We’re looking for a Civil Engineer based out of any of our GTA offices. To be successful, you must have a minimum of 5 years of extensive technical design experience. In an ever-changing world, it requires creativity and innovation to stay ahead.

Working with an energetic and high-performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  1. The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria along with the application of sound professional judgment.
  2. The ideal candidate will have a track record of design delivery for multi-discipline projects specifically, complex civil and facility projects.
  3. Work closely with Business Lead and Managers, Project Directors with a focus on earthworks, landfills, solid waste, and site remediation design.
  4. Coordinate all aspects of the civil design including being responsible for the design.
  5. Develop or verify the technical scope of a project.
  6. Complete civil designs following the budget and schedule.
  7. Participate in design coordination meetings and address critical issues.
  8. Work closely with the engineering group to facilitate decision-making related to civil design.
  9. Ensure the client’s requirements including specifications and standards are integrated into the project.
  10. Ensure quality control processes are being followed.
  11. Mentor and develop junior staff.
  12. Represent GHD at Client meetings when required.

What you will bring to the team:

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.

Possessing P. Eng certification in Ontario is mandatory for the role.

Minimum of 5 years of extensive technical design experience.

Demonstrable experience in civil design delivery for larger, multi-discipline projects with a focus on Earthworks, site remediation, solid waste, and renewable energy.

Experience working in a Design-Build environment.

Detailed understanding of local Agency (or equivalent) Codes and Standards is considered essential.

Experience working in an integrated 3D environment.

Team building and mentoring skills.
