Working with an energetic and high-performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria along with the application of sound professional judgment.
- The ideal candidate will have a track record of design delivery for multi-discipline projects specifically, complex civil and facility projects.
- Work closely with Business Lead and Managers, Project Directors with a focus on earthworks, landfills, solid waste, and site remediation design.
- Coordinate all aspects of the civil design including being responsible for the design.
- Develop or verify the technical scope of a project.
- Complete civil designs following the budget and schedule.
- Participate in design coordination meetings and address critical issues.
- Work closely with the engineering group to facilitate decision-making related to civil design.
- Ensure the client’s requirements including specifications and standards are integrated into the project.
- Ensure quality control processes are being followed.
- Mentor and develop junior staff.
- Represent GHD at Client meetings when required.
What you will bring to the team:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
Possessing P. Eng certification in Ontario is mandatory for the role.
Minimum of 5 years of extensive technical design experience.
Demonstrable experience in civil design delivery for larger, multi-discipline projects with a focus on Earthworks, site remediation, solid waste, and renewable energy.
Experience working in a Design-Build environment.
Detailed understanding of local Agency (or equivalent) Codes and Standards is considered essential.
Experience working in an integrated 3D environment.
Team building and mentoring skills.
