Position Overview

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers has an immediate opening for a dynamic Early Career Roadway Drafter in our growing office in Laval, QC. Looking for the ideal candidate to perform a variety of CADD production tasks related to highway/civil projects and miscellaneous support for construction. The Drafter should have a minimum experience in engineering plan production, be familiar with current programs/software, and CAD production practices.

Responsibilities

  • In office work primarily
  • Work with engineering team in developing preliminary and final drawings and details.
  • Participate in take off quantities and other related tasks
  • Use MicroStation / AutoCAD, and 3D modeling software (SS2, SS4, ORD or C3D)
  • Produce documents with MS Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Qualifications

  • DEC - Diploma of Collegial Studies in Civil Engineering Technology
  • Design experience or Design-Build project experience a plus
  • General knowledge of engineering principles and materials for highway/civil work
  • Read and understand construction documents
  • Knowledge in AutoCAD
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
  • The ability to clearly communicate and collaborate well with Engineers and Designers in either French and English
  • 2 years minimum experience in drafting

  • Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
  • Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
