Our teams have deep expertise in the mining, minerals and metals processing industries, as well as related non-process infrastructure such as, water, and energy solutions.DRA covers all major mining centers with offices across Africa and the Middle East, North and South America, and the Asia-Pacific.We are seeking a Civil Design Engineer, based out of our Toronto or Montreal Office, who is proficient in Infraworks.The main purpose of the position is to carry out civil engineering design and production of 3D models and specifications related to civil works such as road networks, terrace/grading bulk earthworks, potable water systems, sanitary and storm water systems, storage volume capacity and preparing 2D & 3D drawings in accordance with the DRA CAD Standards.Responsibilities:Perform civil engineering design and information for drafting, with Civil 3D and AutoCAD, related to site plan projects, including roads, grading design, storm and sanitary design, and stormwater management modelling.Complete design calculations based on engineering principles, meeting applicable regulatory codes and standards, and convey design information to CAD staff for drafting completion.Prepare engineering drawings to specified standards.Produce engineering technical reports and plans for studies and detail designs.Prepare estimates for material take-offs including reports from softwarePreparation of information for tender documents and the assessment of tenders.Supervising and administering contracts, including the supervision of sub-contractors engaged by DRA for the purposes of Health and Safety.Liaise and co-ordinate with the client, project manager and engineers of other disciplines to ensure adherence to project and client requirements and specifications.Carry out site investigations, field tests and report findings to the Engineering Manager.Manage the schedule (time), cost, quality and scope on all design contracts on the project.Accurately mark-up designs for drafting personnel.Ensure Quality standards adhered to by checking accuracy of work before it gets issued.Manage high level of risks within project regarding engineering processes, systems, equipment and infrastructure design.Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.Requirements:Infraworks is essentialCivil Engineering Degree from recognized institutionRegistered Engineer or eligible to register6-8 years experience in a similar role within the multi-disciplinary EPCM environmentDesign in mining and infrastructure projectsProficiency in computer design programs Civil 3DEmployment type:PermanentWe value diversity and the benefits it brings to achieving our objectives, enhancing our reputation, and attracting, engaging, and retaining talented people.
