The Chief Sport Officer (CSO) is responsible for the leadership and development of a team of peers to drive university sport forward to achieve the organization’s strategic goals both nationally and internationally. The CSO is responsible for the successful organization and staging of National Championships – one of U SPORTS’ core properties, Sport System relations in Canada and Internationally as well as the management and delivery of the new Sport Model Program. The CSO leads a team of professionals to collaborate with the membership and key stakeholders. The CSO aligns sport development and programming with the Canadian Sport System while recognizing the ‘uniqueness’ of the academic necessities with a goal of elevating university sport that will provide exceptional student-athlete experience and growth in University Sport in Canada.
