Job Description

Elevate your career as a Chief Geologist with Tantalum Mining Corporation of Canada and contribute to our organization's ongoing geological research and exploration efforts. In this position, you will engage in a range of responsibilities from leading and managing geological projects to developing and executing the company's geological exploration strategies.

Job Summary:

To direct mine geological functions to ensure budgeted ore head grades are met, ore reserves are calculated on a regular basis, and new reserves are identified. To direct all exploration activities in the search for additional tantalum/cesium/lithium ores for the existing operation, and any new tantalum/cesium/lithium deposits.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the company's geological exploration and resource development strategies.
  • Conduct geological surveys and studies to evaluate the presence and quality of geological resources.
  • Analyze and present geological data, identify new geological opportunities and assess potential risks.
  • Directs, coordinates, and develops Diamond Drilling program.
  • Lead and manage geological projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Training, mentoring, and coaching of employees to support career development goals.
  • Assess and mitigate environmental impacts as well as implement best practices to minimize environmental risks.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and environmental standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Technical Requirements:

  • AutoCAD, Surpac, Leapfrog, Mx Deposit, Microsoft Office and all applicable software, Sage, KloudGin.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Geological Engineering or related field.
  • Membership or eligibility for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Manitoba.
  • Minimum of ten years hands-on experience (mine geology, exploration, research) with rare metal LCT-type pegmatites.
  • Minimum 5 years mine geology experience in a pegmatite (preferred), gold or PGE operation.
  • Excellent communication and people skills to ensure the successful implementation and management of geological projects.
  • Ability to effectively work on a team.

  • Site located at Bernic Lake, MB: must be able to reliably commute to site and commute from Lac du Bonnet, MB or surrounding communities. (required)
