Job Description

CFO-

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) reports to the President & CEO and has primary responsibility to oversee and direct accounting activities in support of Foundation strategy. The CFO ensures sound financial management that supports organizational growth and financial stability. The CFO Provides weekly reports to the CEO on current income and expenses and regularly communicates information affecting the financial health of the organization. The CFO ensures organizational compliance with relevant laws and tax obligations. The CFO partners with the Program Directors to ensure proper recording and auditing of expenses incurred and income earned.

Skills Required

The CFO has strong leadership, strategic, and communications skills as related to finance and general administration. A successful candidate has operational experience and should have the ability to assess the business implications of the Not For profit’s operations. The CFO possesses strong analytical skills and practical experience and expertise in financial and accounting policies, practices, and systems. A successful candidate has a demonstrated track record in meeting compliance and best-practice standards for finance and/or accounting. The candidate can assess and propose strategies to manage financial risk.

Education and Experience

Candidate will have a Degree in Accounting or Finance with at least 7 years experience in Business and Finance as an Account Manger or CFO. Two years experience in Not For Profit Organization preferred.

Additional experience with SAGE accounting systems and an understanding of compliance of Billing for Grants Awarded.
