Job Description

Yorktown Search Partners is conducting a confidential executive search for a dynamic and experienced Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead a well-established and reputable company in the trucking and logistics industry. The successful candidate will be based in either Toronto or Calgary and will receive an industry-standard salary along with equity in the company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the company's strategic plan to advance its mission and objectives and to promote revenue, profitability, and growth.
  • Operational Management: Oversee the company's operations to ensure efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources.
  • Financial Oversight: Develop and manage the company's budget; ensure the company meets its financial goals and objectives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Foster effective relationships with stakeholders, including investors, employees, clients, and regulatory bodies.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities and partnerships to drive growth.
  • Corporate Governance: Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements and adheres to the highest standards of corporate governance.
  • Team Leadership: Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing executive team and workforce.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of executive leadership experience, preferably within the trucking or logistics industry.
  • Leadership: Proven track record of successfully managing a company or significant business unit.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management principles.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Location: Must be willing to be based in Toronto, ON or Calgary, AB.
