IntroductionWe are currently hiring a Chief Business Officer for our client – a global large-scale therapeutic drug manufacturer. The Chief Business Officer (CBO) is essential for setting and implementing strategic business development activities in line with the organizations vision and goals. This involves overseeing client onboarding and managing relationships with stakeholders, while also ensuring growth through securing commercial contracts and supporting leadership in strategic decision-making based on market analysis.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute business growth strategies in line with the companys vision and goals.Cultivate partnerships and ecosystems to meet market demand effectively.Drive creative marketing and business initiatives to increase lead generation and secure contracts.Implement risk management strategies across the customer lifecycle.Monitor and analyze market trends, collaborating with leadership to develop forecasts.Collaborate with CEO and leadership to enhance services and products.Design and lead a global business development team.Support strategic projects by providing business insights and analysis.Enhance departmental practices and policies to promote growth.Optimize business development processes to improve client conversion rates.Promote a client-centric service culture.Work on securing commercial contracts to support expansion plans.Focus on meeting budgets, targets, and revenue goals.Anticipate market changes and participate in industry discussions.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in finance, business, or related field required, with preference for candidates holding a master’s or MBA degree. A background in science is advantageous.Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in business development, contract management, and strategic planning, including leadership roles in dynamic environments.Recent experience in Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) manufacturing within pharmaceutical or life sciences sectors is mandatory.Proven track record of results-driven leadership spanning strategic vision to operational execution.Demonstrated success in leading teams to drive sustainable business growth.Extensive network and adeptness at promoting services in rapidly evolving markets.Exceptional communication and negotiation skills tailored for B2B commercial development.Proficiency in cultivating and maintaining business relationships.Strong emphasis on achieving short- and long-term business development and financial objectives.Hands-on experience in business transactions.Meticulous attention to detail coupled with high ethical standards, accuracy, confidentiality, and accountability.Proficient in verbal and written communication, presentation, negotiation, conflict resolution, and leadership.Ability to work autonomously and effectively in remote settings, with willingness to travel as needed.
