Further information is available at www.newflyer.com. POSITION SUMMARYTo carry out the duties of a Truck and Coach technician as directed by the Service Centre Manager. WHAT YOU WILL DO: Must be able to work unsupervised in the repair and maintenance of Heavy duty Transit Buses.Must be proficient in the use of all required mechanical, air and hydraulic tools.Must understand the requirement for safe working practices within a busy mechanical shop and the use of personal safety equipment.A good understanding on the use of computers for diagnostics is beneficial.Must have the ability to follow parts and service manuals instructions.Physically perform all tasks associated with his/her discipline for whatever the shop needs are at the time.Support the shop’s lean manufacturing initiatives with roll outs and recommendations for improvements.Must be able to work independently or as a team member.Assist with accurate ordering of parts and materials required for repairs.Forklift operation.Other duties as required.Welding and machining would be an advantage.
