Our operations encompass some 150 mining, metallurgical and oil production sites as part of a global network.About the role:The Category and Contract Manager is responsible for developing and executing short-and long-term category and contract strategies as part of the operational and procurement processes for Glencore Copper's entire NACAP region (North America and the Philippines). The successful candidate is responsible for implementing sustainable strategies and major contracts to ensure the best possible level of service. Using the most advanced procurement processes and technologies, the successful candidate is expected to make a significant impact on operational results in line with the functional objectives of the departments, internal customers and overall management.The candidate will be asked to: Implement category or commodity strategies to optimize operational efficiency and procurement process maturity.Execute elements of the overall operations category strategy to deliver services, meet contracts and improve supplier performance.Category management, including strategic sourcing, contracts, performance and risk management.Work with internal stakeholders, procurement specialists and buyers to identify opportunities to improve quality, delivery times, costs and customer satisfaction.Report on procurement operations and analyze management information for potential improvements.Identify ingenious procurement solutions that generate cashable savings and ensure the efficiency of the organization's processes.Address supplier issues to ensure the best possible level of service.Lead contract management strategies and negotiations to improve end-to-end procurement processes.Facilitate the implementation of procurement change initiatives by category to improve operational performance.Develop procurement best practices to be applied by procurement teams in collaboration with contract managers.Develop and update specialized knowledge of different supply markets, competition and product innovations.Build strong relationships with internal customers and ensure their satisfaction.Plan and execute effective risk mitigation strategies to optimize category value.Skills:Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to the position and more than 10 years' experience in a strategic positionMinimum 5 years' experience in a management position.Independent team player with over five years' experience in dealing with cross-functional teamsDirectly led the implementation and deployment of category and contract management strategies.Proven track record of positively impacting strategic sourcing and procurement operations.Able to influence and apply the best possible negotiation strategies.Experience of influencing and applying change management principles at all levels of the organizationStrong leadership skills and proven ability to lead cross-functional teamsExcellent skills in verbal or written communication, presentation and facilitation Strong project management skills and the ability to manage a variety of projectsVisionary and long-term oriented; ability to foresee results Ability to create an open environment, allowing the free exchange of information and ideas, and conducive to participation, growth and achievementExemplary standards of integrity, personal work ethic and ongoing participation in self-learning and developmentProficiency in Windows, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI and market information simulation software.
