About the Lower Thames Valley Conservation Foundation:

The Lower Thames Valley Conservation Foundation (LTVCF) is committed to preserving and promoting the natural and cultural heritage of the Lower Thames Valley region. We are currently embarking on a vital project to build a new Indigenous Learning Centre and revitalize the Ska-Nah-Doht Museum, aimed at enhancing Indigenous cultural heritage and environmental learning. The new Indigenous Learning Centre and Ska-Nah-Doht Museum are located at Longwoods Road Conservation Area, owned and operated by the Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority (LTVCA), Mount Brydges, ON.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and oversee the fundraising campaign for the Indigenous Learning Centre and the revitalization of the Ska-Nah-Doht Museum. The Project Manager will manage the campaign database, develop and implement a comprehensive work plan, liaise with key stakeholders, and engage with potential donors. This role is critical to ensuring the successful funding and completion of this transformative project.

Key Responsibilities:

Database Management

- Maintain and manage the fundraising campaign database.

- Ensure accurate and up-to-date records of donors and potential donors.

- Collaborate with the fundraising committee to develop a detailed work plan.

- Define objectives, timelines, and accountability measures.

- Implement the work plan, ensuring tasks are assigned with clear timelines and responsibilities.

- Monitor progress and adjust as necessary to stay on track.

- Function as the main point of contact between the project team and the LTVCF President (Capital Project Manager).

- Coordinate with the Curator/Education Team Leader of Ska-Nah-Doht Museum to align educational and cultural goals.

- Engage with potential donors, building relationships and collaborating with fundraising committee members to leverage connections.

Prospecting and Donor Engagement/Business Development

- Identify and prospect potential donors based on community connections and research.

- Develop strategies for donor engagement and relationship building.

Consulting Contractor Relationship

- Maintain a professional and collaborative relationship with the Lower Thames Valley Conservation Foundation as a consulting contractor.

Budget Management 

- Manage and collaborate the fundraising campaign budget.

- Ensure financial resources are used effectively and report on budget status regularly.

Qualifications:

Education

- Marketing/Business Administration Diploma, Nonprofit Management Certificate/CFRE, or a related work experience in related fields.

- Certification in Project Management (PMP or equivalent work experience).

Experience

- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience, with a focus on fundraising campaigns or corporate business development.

- Proven experience in managing large-scale projects from initiation to completion.

Skills

- Strong understanding of fundraising principles and donor engagement strategies.

- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

- Proficiency in project management and CRM software.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.

- Ability to develop relationships.

- Strong organizational and time-management skills.

- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.

- High attention to detail and quality-oriented mindset.

- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and donors.

- The new facilities will address existing asset and structural issues at Ska-Nah-Doht Museum.

- This project will help to diversify revenue sources for Longwoods Road Conservation Area programs, contributing to its sustainability.

- Ska-Nah-Doht Museum was built in 1974 and its programming capacity, community needs, and staff have outgrown the current museum.

- The idea for a new Indigenous Learning Centre stems from research reports including Indigenous and community public input (Longwoods Road Conservation Area Visioning Exercise and Longwoods Resource Centre Feasibility Study).

- Studies have been endorsed by the LTVCA Board of Directors.
