Position Overview:
We are currently looking for a CAD Drafter. This candidate will be required to apply the principles of 2D and 3D design for the development and conversion of design drawings for manufacturing and maintenance of mechanical machinery systems and products.

Duties and Responsibilities:

We are looking for an experienced SolidWorks software draftsperson with the ability to produce detailed shop drawings for our custom metal fabrication

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, architectural drawings, schedules and client hand drawings to understand design intent.
  • Prepare accurate shop drawings for submission.
  • Ability to operate Solidworks to create 3D designs
  • Ability to operator AutoCAD to work in 2D CAD environment
  • Ability to multitask and manage several projects at a time
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • problem-solving abilities to develop creative solutions
  • Create 3D parts and assemblies based on 2D details
  • Reliable team player
  • Experience with Auto-CAD (1-3 years)
  • Experience and /or knowledge of the manufacturing processes (1-3 years).
  • Attention to details, a high level of personal organization and strong interpersonal skill.
  • Min. three years of college school in Mechanical Engineering
  • Proficient in 2D CAD, with 3D CAD and FEA an asset
  • Good understanding of manufacturing and machining processes
  • Problem-solving and project management skills
  • Motivated to solve technical challenges
  • Experienced in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Machining experience is an asset

Education & Experience Required:

  • Graduate from a post-secondary Mechanical Design/Engineering program, and/or equivalent related work experience
  • Solidworks and AutoCAD: 1 year (required)
  • Manufacturing: 1 year (required)
