The CAD Designer will work with multi-disciplined engineering, design, and project teams in developing design drawings utilizing AutoCAD and other related products.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Create, edit, and modify AutoCAD drawings based on design provided by engineersUtilize annotation for clarificationDevelop and read reinforced concrete and steel drawings as well as mechanical and shop drawingsCollaborate with engineers and shop and construction operations to meet fabrication and constructability requirementsTypical Design will Consist of:Foundation Layout PlansStructural Specifications and NotesSteel Structure Fabrication DrawingsSteel Connection DetailsConcrete Foundation Detail DrawingsAssist with design tasks including calculations, load rating, structural modeling and analyses, detailing, quantity and cost estimates with supervision from a senior engineerUnderstand & meet project schedule, and quality requirements with accuracy and efficiencySelf-checks all work performed to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to internal reviewActively assist in the delivery of a complete project. This may include phone or e-mail correspondence, attending meetings, and other project documents required for project completionProvide interdepartmental support (Civil, Electrical, Substation, T&D, etc.) as requiredEducationCollege Diploma (in Civil Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology or Mechanical Engineering Technology) or Bachelor Degree in Civil EngineeringExperience Required5 or more years of relevant AutoCAD design experienceQualifications RequiredHigh proficient use of Autodesk AutoCADProficient use of Inventor or SolidWorksAbility to read and interpret drawings, construction, and civil plansExperience with structural steel, reinforced concrete or steel plateUnderstanding of engineering principles and assembly, fabrication, and construction workflowsKnowledge of project management software and computer applications including Word, Excel, PowerPointOrganized team player able to work in a deadline driven, fast-paced environmentEOE, including disability/vets
