Our services range from the design & manufacturing of steel structures, custom machinery and equipment to high precision machined components.Job Position:C&A is currently recruiting an Intermediate Mechanical Engineering Technologist for our Lethbridge operations. The successful candidate will be an individual with 4+ years of design & drafting experience within the steel fabrication industry. Along with the necessary experience, the individual should be motivated & organized, have a high attention to detail, strong mechanical aptitude, and be able to work in a team environment. Time and team management skills are a necessity.Position Overview:The successful candidate will be responsible for structural and machine design including the preparation of 3D CAD models, construction drawings, bill of materials and other documentation for the fabrication process. This position requires a coordination of efforts with the customer, project managers, and shop personnel in order for efficient execution of projects.Post Responsibilities:Participate in design meetings with the customer and project managersField measuring/surveying to confirm site conditions before/during constructionPrepare 3D CAD models of structures, equipment and miscellaneous steelOperation of FEA Analysis software and hand calculations for design purposesCreate & detail layout and construction drawingsPrepare bill of materials and all files required for fabricationDesired Skills & Experience: Diploma in Engineering Technology from accredited institution (ASET accreditation an asset)Minimum 4 years of design & drafting experience using 3D CAD Software – Solidworks Preferred.Knowledge of fabrication processes with mechanical design experience an asset (machine design, mechanical assemblies, etc.)Knowledge of structural design, fabrication and detailingGood oral & written communication skillsAbility to work in a team environment as well as independently with a drive for high quality in a fast paced environmentStrong Mechanical aptitudeC&A Group of Companies strives to provide a high level of service & quality to our customers in the metal fabrication and construction industry by providing solutions through the integration of technology throughout the various sectors of industry (food processing, structural steel, oil & gas).
