Northern Lights Public Schools is located in the heart of Alberta’s Lakeland region, which offers residents a multitude of outdoor recreation opportunities and stunning displays of the Aurora Borealis. The division is focused on ensuring all students have the opportunity to succeed and has designated numeracy and student mental health and wellness as division priorities. Northern Lights Public Schools invites applications for the following position: C2425-13 Teacher - Provincial Campus Based Care Centre This is a full-time position commencing with the start of the 2024-2025 school year. the Alberta Provincial Campus Based Care Centre (PCBCC)) is located in the town of Lac La Biche with as many as 10 students, depending on intake, from Grades 7-12. The program and services integrate trauma-informed practices and best practice research in a way that supports all youth to reach their individual potential. The school is seeking a dedicated and caring teacher who maintains a safe learning environment and who is committed to supporting positive outcomes for youth.Reporting directly to the principal, the successful candidate will: Ensure effective planning, instruction and assessment for students Develop and nurture a flexible, positive, supportive and inclusive classroom environment to bridge school options and transition Partake in and support students' individual treatment plans Be able to focus on traditional healing and participate in cultural room and sensory room therapy Work collaboratively as a member of a professional learning community Create the classroom conditions for students to achieve the outcomes as outlined in the Alberta Curriculum Nurture strong relationships with students, staff, parents and the school communityThe successful candidate will possess the following qualifications: Possess a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate Previous experience teaching the assigned courses/subjects and grade levels is an asset The ability to achieve Alberta Education’s Teaching Quality Standards Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills Commitment to lifelong learning and professional improvementHow to Apply: Interested applicants can apply via Apply to Education as per the instructions on the Northern Lights Public Schools website at Check your Job Application Log to confirm that you have successfully applied.
