Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Purchasing Team as we are actively recruiting for a Buyer responsible for the material and services procurement with a focus on our commodity buying programs. Previous procurement experience with cost, quality and delivery emphasis is a requirement. This position reports to the Purchasing Manager.

What we’re looking for
- Create ‘Request for Quotations’(RFQ); analyze vendor quotations; recommend sourcing
- Develop new sources of supply
- Schedule vendor visits to: support business relationships; assess processes and facilities
- Report out pricing, cost trends and vendor lead time changes
- Ensure the proper preparation of purchase orders (items, terms, conditions)
- Support the Inside Sales Department to ensure timely responses and communication of quotations.
- Follow up and expedite deliveries of shipments as required.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
What you need to succeed
- Secondary School Diploma
- Relevant post-secondary education (Purchasing, Logistics, Business Administration) an asset
- Experience in MRP / ERP systems an asset
- Professional designation in PMAC an asset
- Microsoft (Word, Excel) required
- Blueprint reading experience recommended
