This Opportunity:Our client is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to join their Business Solutions team in Toronto. The successful candidate will provide support to the organization by designing business application solutions, assisting the business in identifying and resolving business problems and conducting research. If you have experience with systems development methodologies, process analysis tools, project management disciplines and data usage we would like to hear from you.Key responsibilities:Develop detailed requirements for application solutions Document functional and technical solutions, test artifacts, service introduction and communication/ change management plans.Collaborate with internal teams and third-party providers for application development including generating requirements, screen mock-ups and data mappingWork with business partners to identify problems and opportunities and investigate and implement solutions to support the business strategyResearch and recommend solutions to enable additional business capabilitiesGenerate ad-hoc reports to support business decisions and business intelligenceSupport IT services related to the portfolio of assigned technology applications and servicesAssist with testing and operational readiness for various initiativesProvide support for process analysis, define best practices and strive for continuous improvement Knowledge, skills, and experience:Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.Minimum 5 years’ experience as an analyst in the insurance or equivalent financial services fieldStrong analytical and problem solving skillsSolid oral and written communication skills and ability to identify, convey and document business requirements and technical needs in clear, concise, and effective manner.Strong technical writing skills and the ability to document procedures and/or user guides for new toolsDemonstrated understanding of Application Life Cycle management principles including service, release and change management.Understanding of and adherence to standard change management procedures for business applications and the ability to perform risk assessments and define appropriate controlsAbility to facilitate the identification of business problems, objectives, etc. and define process and/or technology solutionsAbility to understand business architecture across business applications and prepare logical designs including developing business cases and a cost benefit analysisBroad understanding of the insurance industry, its products, practices and operations is ideal.Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and Visio Proficient in SQL query language for ad-hoc reportingDynamics 365 and/or Filemaker experience is a nice-to-haveWhat they offer:A market competitive salary Flexible working programAnnual transportation subsidy to assist with commuting costs Defined contribution pension plan - up to 8% with no employee matching required and voluntary RRSP and TFSA programsGenerous annual bonus program for all permanent full-time staff Minimum of 3 weeks vacation plus paid wellness, personal, volunteer and sick daysIf you meet the above requirements and are interested in this opportunity, we would be happy to schedule a phone call to discuss the position further.
