Position Summary:The Business Systems Analyst is a pivotal role in improving and modernizing our business by bridging the gap between the business needs and IT technical resources. The Business Systems Analyst works directly with key leaders throughout the Company and the IT technical experts to identify, recommend, and document business process improvements that will transform our operations through business process re-engineering, system redesign, automation, or new system implementations.This position is suited to an individual who is eager to learn, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment with complex problems, challenging deadlines, and has the desire to become a business and technical expert in the organization. A key factor for this role is to understand the current business processes and how the data is stored to properly retrieve data and build effective design specifications.Essential Responsibilities and Duties:Work with business users to thoroughly identify and document business requirements, ensuring all impacts of solution are understood, and risks have been identified.Work with the IT business application team presenting recommendations and collaborating on system design.Understanding process and how they are implemented in ERP systems.Understand database structures and learn the ERP database model.Create detailed specifications of enhancements and new applications.Develop acceptance test strategy and execute test plans.Develop implementation plans; may include developing and delivering training to users and maintaining project and department documentation.Query the database, retrieve, and manipulate data for the business.Support the organization by resolving complex issues; may involve researching impact to other group departments or systems.Other duties as assigned.Education and Experience Required:Technical Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.Business related post-secondary education or an equivalent combination of education and experience is an assetExperience in coaching, training, or assisting other staff.Knowledge of manufacturing and MRP processes is an asset.Experience with SQL is an assetExperience with Cognos is an asset.Experience with ERP systems is an asset.Experience with SharePoint and Automation is an assetSkills and Attributes Required: Solution focused – strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle changing priorities and fluctuating workloads.Solid communication skills – verbal, written, facilitation and presentation.Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.Driven to learn and implement new technologies, but pragmatic in problem solving.Good organizational skills.
