Key Responsibilities

  • Migration of new integrated gound transportation clients

  • Establish / maintain Critical Success Factors

  • Selling additional integrated logistics services including but not limited to:

    • Intermodal: FTL & LTL Domestic & Cross Boarder

    • Intermodal: Container haulage.

    • Supply Chain Management & Value Added (VAS) services

    • Transload / Warehousing

    • Customs House Brokerage

    • Insurance

  • Monitor profitability

  • Contract renewal negotiations

  • Problem solving

  • Sales Systems familiarity including Salesforce.com

  • Special account handling when needed

  • Handling general enquiries

  • Liaise with Area Sales Management on strategic issues

  • Travel with client when mutually beneficial

  • Resolve large and/or complex issues/problems

  • Communicate on many levels within the client’s organization, often from front line customer service people up to CEO level.

  • Comply with all Federal, Provincial and Local legal requirements

  • Performing other Job-related duties as required.

Required experience & skills

  • Fluent in both English and French

  • 3-5 years of external sales experience in transportation or logistics industry experience.

  • Business Understanding - Ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of customer and Maersk’s industry and market dynamics, value drivers, products, services, systems and business processes.

  • Communication - Ability to convey, receive and share information to ensure mutual understanding internally and externally across all levels.

  • Excellent negotiation, listening, probing, and closing skills.

  • Strong working knowledge of Salesforce.com and MS Office products (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook), and an ability to quickly adapt and work with new software.

  • Travel, as required.
