Recipe is looking for the Business Development Manager (BDM), who is accountable for key performance measures including sales, margin and restaurant P&L’s within their region. This includes influencing and providing coaching to achieve desired business results, talent and people development and operational results. The BDM leverages the monthly Restaurant Scorecards that provides a snapshot of the overall health of the restaurant, including guest satisfaction scores, financial health, food safety, training participation, and much more. The BDM also conducts Restaurant Operations Evaluation (ROE) and reviews Steritech, IT and other audits and provides insights and tools to coach the Franchise Partner/Store Manager to drive their business results. The BDM facilitates and coaches the development of action plans in partnership with the Restaurant Owner/Store Manager to improve Operational Performance and Food Safety. The BDM is a Guest experience leader and is responsible for ensuring that the brand’s standards are executed consistently across the network with particular attention to underperforming restaurants to ensure “every Guest leaves happy” in their region. Establish and build a trusting relationship with Franchise Partners by conducting purpose driven restaurant visits to improve business results across all 4 pillars - People, Food, Planet, Governance - and including Developing People Ambassador for Operational Excellence - lead and otherwise champion the delivery, execution and adoption of Recipe Food Safety & Quality standards in stores Act as the representative for Recipe in the investigation and resolution of high care customer complaints including liaison with complainants, Recipe Food Safety team and store operations team to ensure matters of complaint are appropriately escalated, investigated and resolved to customer satisfaction Coach Corporate and Franchise Partners in the moment to educate and inspire a change in behaviour. Communicate and share brand standards and available resources that assist the Franchise Partner to remedy the gaps Communicate and share brand standards and available resources that assist the Franchise Partner or Store Manager to remedy the gaps while conducting your audit Complete 1 Business Plan per year per store Establish clear business goals and financial targets with Franchise Partner/Store Manager Liaise between Restaurant Owner/Leader and brand leadership team to ensure identified issues that are negatively impacting GE metrics are communicated Lead all areas of new restaurant openings and renovations and ensure that new restaurants reach their business goals initiate where required, local store marketing Coach and develop restaurant leaders to deliver perfect Guest experiences and on their individual development plans for corporate and franchised locations Follow up to ensure Franchise Partners who are enrolled in the management training program are progressing on track as per the schedule and measure the competence of the Franchise Partner at the critical checkpoints to flag potential gaps/issues Ensure that tasks pertaining to eLearning are accessible to the associates and completed to promote ongoing growth and development Ensure compliance with the employment standards, human rights, health and safety and WHMIS within the region Ensure effective implementation and compliance of the Steritech and Pest Control Programs Support stores with their local and community store marketing initiatives to improve community engagement University degree or college diploma in restaurant and hospitality management an asset but not required Minimum of 5 years of restaurant management experience Bilingual - English/French Manage regional talent and mobility for future succession planning and grow talents within the company Know restaurants business fundamentals Great time management, drive for results, and professional communication Work with all brand functions such as Operational Excellence, Operational Effectiveness and Training, Marketing, and Culinary You’d be joining a close-knit, innovative team of creative and energetic go-getters ~ 20% associate discount dining card and monthly dining allowance valid at participating Recipe brands ~ Career advancement opportunities with a company that owns some of Canada’s most iconic restaurant brands ~
