Vaughan is your place to grow.Position OverviewUnder the guidance and direction of the Director, the Business Analyst is responsible for performing policy and business process analysis, including process mapping & information flows in the Development Planning Department. This includes analyzing performance measurement information and identifying ways to ensure an effective use of information in the decision-making ang business planning process to meet the Departments strategic objectives. Responsible for monitoring, tracking, collecting and curating data from multiple sources to perform precise and valuable analysis and draft reports and presentations with recommendations that identify improvement opportunities and/or support decision making. Overall, this position plays an integral role in transforming the Corporations business process and enhancing customer service delivery.Qualifications and Experience• Four (4) year University degree in one of the following: Business administration, politicalscience, finance, financial analysis, public administration, social science, technical,engineering, mathematics, computer science or related discipline. Knowledge of the landdevelopment process is an asset.• Certification in Business Analysis (CBAP) and/or Project Management Institute-Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA) Certification.• Five (5) years of progressive experience as a Business Analyst within a complexcorporate enterprise environment with a focus on business process engineering.• Thorough knowledge of strategic planning and business process management theoryand models, including Lean Six Sigma.• Knowledge of the Planning / land development process is an assetDemonstrated ability to:• conduct policy and process review/design, data gathering and analysis to facilitate cleararticulation of improvement opportunities.• create business requirement documentation, cost-benefit analysis, business cases andproject proposals.• conceptualize technical solutions in accordance with best practices.• remain current with applicable Laws, Acts, Legislation and trends/technology, policy,identifying trends in municipal innovation with respect to service delivery.• work independently and in a group setting with minimal supervision, dealing withcomplex issues within a matrixed organization and cross-functional project teams.• work under pressure to meet deadlines or peak period workloads• interact effectively and courteously with all levels of staff and contacts in a political andcommunity/client service environment• use critical thinking, reason and judgement to develop conclusions or solutions toproblems• Intermediate interpersonal, time management, organizational, analytical, report-writing,verbal communication, written communication, presentation, prioritization, problemsolving, and leadership skills• Advanced computer literacy utilizing Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, MicrosoftVisio, Adobe Acrobat, financial systems/software, the internet, SAP BOBJ, SAP HANA,and SAP BW systemsThe City of Vaughan has an employee-focused culture with an emphasis on health and wellness, work-life balance, and family benefits.We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
