Business Analyst Job In Ottawa

This position offers the opportunity to join an expanding Go-To-Market (‘GTM’) Operations team and refine the data and automation services we provide the org. The GTM Operations team is expanding its data motion to augment our ETL processes, data analysis capabilities and automation competencies. The analyst will have the opportunity to work cross-functionally with various other functions such as Business Applications, Reporting, Data engineering, and others alongside their function’s leadership to guide business decisions.

The purpose of this role is to help provide the tools to power analysis & insights for the GTM organization. This position will require strong data, communication and analytical skills paired with an ability to manage multiple projects while working alongside the entire GTM Operations (Sales, Marketing, Support) Analyst team. Additionally, this position will require working with others for determining and obtaining required source data, as well as working with our data engineering team on long-term structural requirements for reporting data.

Please note this is a hybrid role, therefore attedance in the Ottawa collaboration hub is required.

· Create, maintain, and document data/automation workflows

· Interface with other teams for uncovering required sources and documentation for creating data

· Create automations to power data transformations and business processes

· Identify areas for improvement in existing processes and opportunities to solve problems with new automated processes

· Manage ad-hoc requests, engaging requestors to understand the root issue or underlying “job to be done”

· Experience working with data, preferably within a SAAS business

· Experience creating datasources from disparate upstream sources

· Experience using technical skills to develop new and better ways to accomplish required tasks

· Experience creating datasets and multiple related tables to solve a problem

· Inclination towards solving problems from complex datasets

· Knowledge of SQL

· At least a hobbyist familiarity with programming concepts such as functions, loops and conditionals

· Experience with Alteryx, Matillion, tableau prep or other ETL tool

· Experience with power automate and working with http APIs

· Strong attention to detail and written communication skills

· Experience working with Snowflake or other cloud-based data solution

· Background with data visualization software (Tableau preferred), analytic storytelling, and presenting findings to various business stakeholders

Valued but not required:

· Experience working with Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, or Support data

· Experience with Salesforce data, dashboarding and reporting

· Python, R, or JavaScript/node experience

· Experience working with API calls and JSON

· Experience with predictive data, modeling, or sentiment analysis
