PURPOSE

The IT Business Analyst (IT BA) serves as a bridge between the IT department and business units. This role involves understanding business needs, translating them into technical requirements, and ensuring that IT solutions align with business goals. The IT BA is responsible for analyzing business processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing technology solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Conduct stakeholder interviews to gather detailed business requirements.
  • Document functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Analyze and prioritize requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with IT, business teams and 3 rd part vendors to design effective solutions.
  • Create detailed specifications for new systems or modifications to existing systems.
  • Facilitate design sessions with development teams to ensure clear understanding.
  • Lead or Assist in the development of project plans, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Develop test plans and test cases to validate system functionality.
  • Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and gather feedback for improvement.
  • Ensure that all solutions meet quality standards and business requirements.
  • Create comprehensive documentation, including user manuals, process guides, and training materials.
  • Conduct training sessions for end-users to ensure smooth adoption of new systems.
  • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for implemented solutions.
  • Coordinating incident response, diagnosing, and resolving issues
  • Communicating with stakeholders to keep them informed of progress and resolution.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend innovative solutions.
  • Evaluate existing systems and processes for potential enhancements.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration, BTM, Accounting or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP, CCBA or CPA) are a plus.
  • 3-5 years of experience in business analysis, preferably within the IT sector.
  • Proficiency in SQL, data modeling, and software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum). Familiarity with business analysis tools (e.g., JIRA)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bilingual in both French and English
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of project management principles and experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Epicor) and related technologies. Knowledge of ERP modules and business processes relevant to functional areas (e.g., finance, customer service, supply chain).
