Our Automation & Digitalization division has an opportunity for an engineering Branch Manager to act as the local ANDRITZ representative and lead a small team of professionals in Kelowna, BC. In this position you will play a key role in the growth of our regional business by working collaboratively with the regional Operational Management and Sales teams to drive the achievement of our organizational objectives. Furthermore, you will also be responsible for liaising with the customer and design teams to develop, design, and deliver high quality, innovative engineering solutions. Responsibilities may include but are not necessarily limited to the following:

  • Design, program and configure DCS and PLC/HMI applications.
  • Audit industrial facilities and develop preliminary engineering designs and cost estimates for electrical and control system upgrades.
  • Design and commission industrial MV and LV electrical power systems, including electrical room design, equipment specifications, motor control and grounding systems, and cable and raceway sizing and layouts.
  • Complete electrical control and instrumentation system design including P&ID drawings, control system architecture, and instrumentation systems.
  • Prepare and evaluate tender and construction packages, including electrical and instrumentation drawings, installation specifications, and other supporting documentation.
  • Provide project management, leadership, and technical guidance to a team of engineers and project stakeholders.
  • Oversee project coordination to ensure accurate billing, time accounting, and financial reporting.
  • Consult and negotiate with customers to prepare specifications, explain proposals, and present engineering reports.
  • Build, lead and develop a small team of professionals; including recruitment and selection, training, and performance management.
  • Network with industry groups and professional organizations to establish the presence and reputation of the Company.
  • Ensure that the activities adhere to the quality standards established by the Company and industry standards.
  • Embody, demonstrate, and reinforce the ANDRITZ values.

When selecting candidates, we will be looking for the following essential skills, abilities, and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, or other relevant discipline
  • Minimum of 7 years' industrial project engineering experience, preferably the pulp and paper industry
  • Proven ability to successfully manage and deliver controls and electrical systems projects
  • Customer-focused with strong business acumen and desire to develop sales
  • Passionate about leading and developing high performing teams
  • Comfortable developing relationships and communicating with all levels and departments within a mill
  • Resourceful, self-managed, and goal driven
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to present to others
  • Legally entitled to work in the Canada
  • Ability and willingness to travel to domestic and international sites

Other valued, but non-essential skills, abilities, and experience include:

  • Consulting engineering experience an asset
  • Registered (or eligible for immediate registration) as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.)

Salary range: 135,000 to 150,000 based on a 37.5-hour work week.
