JOB DESCRIPTION:

SCOPE OF POSITION

The Team Manager of Community Support Services (CSS) program is responsible and accountable for the coordination and implementation of programs that support older adults and adults with disabilities; ensuring ongoing development, service delivery and evaluation within the framework of the WOCRC philosophy and strategic direction.

CSS programs are delivered in a variety of locations around the west end of Ottawa. The Team Manager will provide supervision at the place of program delivery The Team Manager is a member of the management team and handles all aspects of staff management and administration for the CSS teams. The Team Manager collaborates with other WOCRC Team Managers to integrate services using a cross functional lens to increase care coordination to clients across the Centre. The Team Manager collaborates with external groups/agencies in order to ensure effective and comprehensive service delivery and to represent WOCRC in groups and coalitions that address the broad determinants of health.

Education and Experience:

  • Masters or Undergraduate degree in Social Work, Health Administration, health or social sciences or an equivalent combination of education and significant related experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years management experience managing a multi-disciplinary team including supervision of staff;
  • Experience working with older adults and adults with disabilities
  • Demonstrated commitment to and knowledge of community-based model of health service provision and feminist principles;
  • Knowledge of the Home and Community Care Act
  • Knowledge of health and social services delivery in Ottawa and the broader Champlain region;
  • Knowledge of general management principles, including financial and human resource management;
  • Program development and evaluation experience;
  • Strong planning, decision-making, leadership and organizational skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and serve the needs of diverse communities;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Promoter of team work;
  • Proven conflict resolution skills;
  • Knowledge and experience working with volunteers;
  • Demonstrated flexibility and effectiveness with a rapidly changing environment, short deadlines and multiple programs’ consumer needs.

Language:

  • Ability to communicate fluently in English, spoken and written is required
  • Ability to communicate fluently in French, spoken and written is required, to the following levels:
    • Oral Expression and Comprehension: Advanced plus
    • Reading Comprehension: Advanced plus
    • Written expression: Intermediate plus
  • Other languages reflective of the community we serve are an asset.

Other:

  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle required, including $2 million in liability insurance
  • Due to the multiple locations of service delivery this position is highly mobile, and the expectation is that the Manager will be working from these sites on a regular basis.

SALARY RANGE:

  • Starting Salary is $68,741.13

DESCRIPTION DU POSTE

SSC programs are offered in many locations around Ottawa, with the team manager responsible for oversight where they are provided. He or she is part of the leadership team and is responsible for all aspects of personnel management and administration for SSC teams. The team manager works closely with his or her counterparts at the WOCRC to integrate services from a cross-functional perspective, with a view to improving the coordination of care and services offered to clients throughout the Center.
