Join the Housing Programs team, in the Specialist, Multi-Unit Housing Solutions position. In this role, you will provide expertise in client relationships, multi-unit real estate financing and leadership skills. You will play a critical role in creating and ensuring positive relationships with housing experts, promoters and developers while identifying opportunities to stimulate multi-unit development. Your experience leading intelligence-gathering efforts and providing strategic input into processes, policy and technology direction will help us make housing affordable for everyone in Canada.This is a temporary position of a duration of 24 months.What you’ll do: Gather intelligence on local client needs and housing issues and communicate insights. Work directly with housing providers (non-profit organizations, private developers, etc.) to find housing solutions that ensure both viability and long-term sustainability, guiding and supporting them throughout the planning and construction phases and ensuring desired outcomes. Work closely with regional team, national teams, local partners and stakeholders to jointly develop strategies, identify policy improvements and collaborate on housing solutions. Identify potential issues and ensuring appropriate risk awareness. Develop and implement a key account approach for large borrowers, non-profit affordable housing providers, developers and other multi-unit partners. Engage in business development and experience in managing a portfolio of clients with a range of service strategies/plans to help achieve CMHC program outcomes. Identify new opportunities for innovative processes or enhancements to meet client housing financing needs with long-term consideration in addressing both risk and clients/borrower needs. Participate in the development of client consultation processes, methodologies and conducts industry consultation interviews to inform the client strategy.What you should have: An Undergraduate (bachelor’s) degree in planning, policy, economics or real estate finance. A minimum of five (5) years of experience in information dissemination, rental mortgage insurance products, sales or business development. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. A broad understanding of the Canadian affordable, social and private housing sectors as well as the various programs intended to assist these sectors. A demonstrated experience and/or knowledge related to multi-unit residential real estate development and finance. A sound understanding of the financing of housing projects demonstrating the ability to review financial proposals and assess their viability. A comprehensive working knowledge of client relationship management, including key account and government relationship strategy. The ability to build and maintain client relationships and recognize opportunities for improvement.Posting closing date: Note, the competition will remain active until filled.
