The Role
We're seeking a talented and passionate Backend Developer to join our growing team and play a pivotal role in building the scalable and robust foundation of our platform. You'll be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing key backend functionalities that power ScholarLink's AI-driven matching system, user management, data pipelines, and more.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with frontend developers, data scientists, and product managers to understand user needs and translate them into robust backend solutions.
- Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable and secure backend APIs using strong programming languages and frameworks (e.g., Python, Java, Node.js, Django, Spring).
- Implement efficient data structures and algorithms to ensure optimal performance and scalability of the platform.
- Integrate with third-party APIs and services to enable core functionalities.
- Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to establishing coding best practices.
- Identify and troubleshoot backend issues to ensure smooth platform operation.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest backend development technologies and trends.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- +3 years of experience developing backend applications for web or mobile platforms.
- Strong proficiency in at least one backend programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Node.js).
- Solid understanding of web application architecture (MVC, RESTful APIs).
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB) is a plus.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
