Job Description

Our client within investment management requires an Associate Wealth Manager to join their team. Working with the Wealth Manager, the Associate Wealth Manager manages client relationships including onboarding client contacts and communications.Responsibilities:Client OnboardingParticipate in onboarding meetings with clientsGather information required from clients for the preparation of account opening documents and CRM set upCoordinates with the client service associate on the preparation of all agreements and documents, ensuring compliance with required standardsAs necessary, consults with the client service associate on communication with the custodian regarding all required information and monitor the overall setupAct as a resource for the client service associate to confirm CRM accuracyWork with the client service associate to complete the onboarding processCommunicate directly with clients on transfer progress and assist the client service associate in resolving discrepanciesAs required, assist the client service associate in reviewing the transfer of client holdings to ensure data is accurately inputted and accounted for (book values, etc.)Client Relationship ManagementManage relationships with clients on behalf of the wealth manager where appropriate, including ongoing and regular client contact and communicationPRovide high-touch services and set up annual meetingsRespond to client requests and concerns, ensuring any issues are resolvedProvide timely and quality responses to client requests for information regarding their investments, tax or other account information; troubleshoots client problemsTroubleshoots problems with client service regarding transactions in CRM and with the custodianAct as a resource to the client service in producing and reviewing documents for client meetings (investment reviews/reporting updates/KYC)Join the wealth manager when meeting the clients to establish goals and objectives, for portfolio reviews and client updates. Prepare CRM meeting notes, action items and coordinate with client service on completion of itemsAssist client service as required to verify all asset transfers to custodian to ensure accuracy and completeness (i.e. RSP transfers). Communicate with clients and new business opportunities from existing clientsTransaction AdministrationReview previous day’s transactions/activities as required for accuracy regarding asset allocation, corrections, etc.Contact clients directly regarding discrepancies and corrections, consulting for client services as required for investigationsAct as a resource for client service for the setup of clients and accounts in CRM, PM system and RBCReview cash flows provided by client service and prepare all required information for the account(s) including asset allocation information for the wealth manager/portfolio manager to reviewAct as a direct resource to client service on transfers including assistance with in-kind transfers and cost base verification. Communicate directly with clients on the status of the transfersMonitor asset allocation of assigned clients to ensure they fall within the desired weightingsProvide all required information (asset allocation spreadsheet, gains/loss review, etc) to the WM/PM for review and next stepsReview transactions, as required, to make sure accurate processing and desired outcomes are achieved (ie, crystallizing gains, rebalancing, etc.)Provide additional support and ad hoc projects for all WM/PMsWealth Planning/Investment Management AssistanceRespond to client requests and questions regarding a variety of tax-related matters, including RRSP & TFSA contributions, tax reporting, estimates of capital gains and losses, etc.Stay current on wealth planning and/or investment management developments and trends; maintain all continuing education for licenses and certificationsAssist with the creation of Feature Sheets and other technical marketing materials where appropriateAssist in organizing and creating tailored seminars to educate clients on investment and/or financial planning topicsAssist marketing with investment review presentation templates, RFPs and prospect materials, where appropriateQualifications:Undergraduate degree in business, accounting, finance or equivalent5+ years related experience in the financial services industryPossesses or is working towards other industry designation (i.e. CIM, CFP)Knowledge of the investment industry and related regulatory and compliance requirementsSolid understanding of Wealth Planning and/or Investment Management concepts, including analytics and investment administrationExceptional organizational skills and record keeping skillsClient focused: Can effectively communicate financial concepts while building trust, rapport and credibility with clientsAbility to be flexible, multi-task and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environmentExcellent written and verbal communications skillsTo apply, upload your resume and complete the required information in the “Apply For The Job” section located to the right of the posting.
