We are seeking an Associate II, Histology to join Aspect’s multidisciplinary Preclinical R&D team to help develop life-changing bioprinted tissue therapeutics. Reporting to the Scientist II, Histology, the Associate II, Histology will conduct routine histology, perform immunofluorescence and immunohistochemistry assays and analyse histological images to support our various preclinical programs. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with a team of cell biologists, biomaterials experts, and engineers to develop bioprinted tissue therapeutics that could transform the way we develop medicines and treat disease.
Responsibilities
- Execute on histology activities including tissue preparation, processing, sectioning, and routine histochemical staining.
- Perform and optimize immunofluorescence and immunohistochemistry procedures.
- Perform imaging analysis and establish comprehensive analytical protocols tailored to the team's requirements utilizing software tools such as ImageJ, QuPath, and other relevant platforms.
- Create SOPs, maintain rigorous experimental records, deliver experimental reports, and present experimental results to key internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to histology study designs to assess performance of bioprinted tissues.
- Support data management efforts for the histology activities.
- Collaborate effectively with biologists, biomaterial scientists, and bioengineers to generate data sets that help optimize the performance of our bioprinted tissue therapeutics.
- Communicate experimental plans and results to key stakeholders through clear and concise presentations and reports.
Qualifications
- Education + Experience: A master’s in biology, biochemistry, life sciences or related field; alternatively, a bachelor’s with at least 2 years of industry experience.
- Histology Experience: Hands-on experience sectioning and staining formalin fixed paraffin embedded samples and experience developing IHC, IF, and IFC protocols. Experience with the use of imaging analysis software such as ImageJ or QuPath.

The hiring range for this role is $48,000 - $69,000, annually. Our ranges are based on market data. Offered salaries will be based on a combination of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience. For candidates who exceed role requirements, we are open to exploring above-range offers. Note that base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at Aspect.
