Agricorp’s Finance department is a dynamic, professional team responsible for day-to-day financial operations, including treasury, investments, budgeting, and reporting and financial analysis, that support Agricorp’s overall strategic plan. The Role As the Associate Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for the delivery of specific Finance services, such as treasury, budgeting and reporting. You will also interpret and execute plans to ensure accuracy and timeliness, adhering to Agricorp policies, procedures, and standards and industry standards. In this role, you will:Be responsible for daily outputs, such as transaction processing and recording, government remittances, account analysis and reconciliations, variance investigations and analysis, and peer reviewsPrepare and develop new financial and management reporting, analytical commentary, and ad hoc analysis as required by management and stakeholdersResearch and investigate accounting and operational issuesParticipate and support efforts related to preparation of financial statements and schedules, including supporting working papers, for audit purposes Participate in finance and company projects and initiatives (e.g. quality and efficiency improvements)Use knowledge and expertise to promote financial understanding across the organization Establish and maintain strong working relationships with appropriate levels of personnel across Agricorp, including management, the senior management team and non-management personnel Job status: PermanentSalary: $62,463 - $73,485Work status: Hybrid work week - combination of remote and 2 days in office (Guelph, ON) Location: Must live in Ontario to perform this roleQualificationsPost-secondary degree in business, accounting, finance or equivalentMinimum 2 years relevant experienceUnderstanding specific financial or accounting systems for planning, reporting and analysisExperience with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Dynamics GP, Power BI and IBM Cognos software preferredExperience in the public sector is an assetCurrent enrollment in CPA program encouraged to apply Technical/professional knowledge – Understands and applies accounting and finance concepts and methodologies Attention to detail – Is conscientious, consistent, accurate and thorough Analytical thinking – Interprets, links, and analyzes information and situations by breaking them down into component parts and identifying patterns, connections, and underlying issues Critical judgement and problem solving – Exercises sound judgement in new situations in the absence of specific guidelines and/or direction Creativity and innovation – demonstrates curiosity, digging for information below the surface; suggest improvement to current approaches.
