Kamloops offers world-class tourism and recreation, excellent cultural, social, and economic opportunities, as well as over 2,000 hours of sunshine annually.The Department of Engineering at Thompson Rivers University is a recent initiative to offer the BEng Software Engineering program.The department is seeking to hire a highly qualified individual for One (01) Limited Term Contract – LTC - Position for TWO years at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor/Associate Teaching Professor beginning September 01, 2024.Qualifications:The successful candidate must possess a PhD in Software Engineering or an equivalent discipline from a recognized university, and the candidate’s teaching and research experience must be within the core areas of Software Engineering.The candidate must have an undergraduate degree in an engineering discipline from a recognized university.Candidate should demonstrate expertise to teach the majority of the following courses in the areas of Software Engineering:Digital System Design (VLSI)Realtime System DesignCloud Computing ProgrammingSoftware Engineering DesignSoftware Engineering for Game DevelopmentSafety Critical SystemsComputer ArchitectureDigital Signal ProcessingThe department strongly supports Women in Engineering 30 by 30 initiative of Engineers Canada and encourages female applicants to apply.Preference will be given to a candidate who currently has a valid Full Professional Engineer license from any of the professional engineers’ associations within Canadian jurisdiction.
