Job Description

The Division of Reproductive, Endocrinology and Infertility (REI), Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at The University of British Columbia (UBC) invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure track) in Reproductive Biology. Specifically, we are seeking a scientist with an interest in ovarian (gamete), embryonic (reproductive genetics), uterine (endometrium) and/or placental biology to complement our existing interdisciplinary strengths in reproductive biology.

Reporting to the Head of the UBC Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, through their Division Head of REI, the successful candidate is expected to develop an internationally recognized and externally funded research program and have the opportunity to lead interdisciplinary research through collaboration with the other departments in the UBC. The successful candidate will also be actively engaged with appropriate colleagues in the newly formed Academy of Translational Medicine within the Faculty of Medicine.

The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. or equivalent credentials with postdoctoral experience. The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability in scholarly activity, preferably with a record of scientific research publications in scholarly journals, and will be expected to provide service to the University and the broader academic and professional community. The successful candidate will have demonstrated evidence of ability in teaching and will be expected to participate in the teaching activities of the Department, as well as provide mentorship and training to undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate learners. Proven experience in conceiving, establishing, and executing research projects, preferably in reproductive health or related fields is an asset.
