CONTINUING STUDIESAssistant Director of Social MediaMADISON ,WisconsinApply NowJOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The Office of Strategic Communication,the central communications and content hub for UW-Madison, is in searchof a creative and strategic Assistant Director of Social Media that willprovide key support for managing and shaping the university\'s socialmedia accounts. We are looking for someone who is excited by higher edcommunications and social media and is comfortable with both strategydevelopment and hands-on content planning and creation. This role willconceptualize, plan and create social media content for distributionacross senior leadership and institutional channels to advance theuniversity\'s priorities and engage target audiences. A primary functionof this role will be to work closely with campus leaders, including theuniversity\'s chancellor, to help manage their social presence. The rolewill work with leadership to produce sharp, engaging written and visualcontent that captures an individual\'s perspective and conveys a rangeof messages on their channels - from serious campus news to spiritedposts that evoke a feeling of inspired goofiness to communityhighlights. In addition, the Assistant Director of Social Media willplan meetings with and provide guidance, resources and support to socialmedia professionals across campus, especially in the area of executivecommunications. This role reports to the Director of InstitutionalSocial Media and will collaborate with leadership, communicationsprofessionals and student staff. Responsibilities: Develops andsupervises the execution of communication programs and may supervisepersonnel and/or other resources in support of institutional or unitcommunication goals. 20% Manages the day-to-day operational unit plansto align with strategic initiatives and to meet established objectives40% Plans, writes, and edits content for various internal and externalstakeholders 10% Plans and directs unit programs and/or projects toensure adherence to deadlines and budgets 10% Identifies, proposes, andimplements new or revised unit operational policies and procedures 10%Develops, implements, and delivers communication materials throughvarious mediums to designated audiences 5%...
