Job Description

Our PracticeG architects is a vibrant and growing practice, with its head office located in downtown Toronto and an Eastern Ontario office in Kingston. Our core sectors are seniors’ retirement and long-term care, mental health treatment, and non-acute healthcare environments. Our work also includes life sciences, commercial, retail and post-secondary projects. Our studio environment encourages our team member’s professional growth and development through encouraging independence and autonomy, balanced with mentoring and support. At G architects, we client service, dialogue, value, transparency, with sound project management in the design of our projects.The PositionG architects depends on Architectural Technologists to support teams in project delivery. Architectural Technologists take direction and contribute to excellent drawings, details and documentation. They are expected to consult with their team to solve design, technical, production, scope or client issues of which they become aware. The firm relies on them to develop excellent working relationships with their colleagues in the studio. Architectural Technologists report to Senior Architects, Architects, or others as assigned.  Key Responsibilities·      Produce elements of projects, as directed·      Develop high-quality drawings, details and documentation that are clear, accurate, comprehensive, and consistent·      Assist in product and materials research·      Produce and maintain high quality minutes, memos, and logs·      Learn and apply building regulations and codes.·      Learn and apply tendering and contracting processes and standards·      Learn and apply construction technique and materials characteristics·      Strive to reduce rework, errors, and omissions·      Participate in design dialogue with other team members·      Create sound relationships with colleagues·      Demonstrate excellent time management skills QualificationsRequirements Working knowledge of Revit softwareStrong written and spoken English language skills, and interpersonal skillsAccredited Architectural Technologists with AATO (candidates working towards accreditation will be considered)Up to date COVID vaccination recordAdditional assetsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office and Bluebeam Working knowledge of Project Management software (i.e. Wrike)Working knowledge of Cloud-based Contract Administration software (i.e. Rform, PlanGrid)Working experience in a mid-sized Architect’s office Salary Range$60,000, for full time employment (35 hours per week), in-person work in our office.The ideal candidate should be passionate about quality in architectural & project design, be responsible and reliable, take pride in one’s work, and enjoy a collaborative and genial work environment. All resumes are to be submitted by e-mail only to hello@garchitects.ca with the position title in the subject line.
