Looking for an Architectural Technologist (Level 2) to join our expanding Construction Team in Calgary, AB.Reporting to the Director of Construction, the Architectural Technologist (AT) produces design layouts and develops drawings and schedules for all phases of a construction project, from concept to completion of scope. Contributes towards the accuracy, quality, completeness, and schedule of finished drawing packages through coordination of team members, Evans internal departments, consultants, and clients.This role requires a technical background with a demonstrated ability to work proficiently in Revit. Must be a self-starter with good time management, organization, and communication skills.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesKnowledge and understanding of North American building design and constructionUnderstanding of the specific design requirements for critical operations centersWork from sketches, notes and other input material to develop conceptual layoutsTranslate preliminary layouts into schematic design, design intent, and construction documents packages for approval, various permits, or construction under the supervision of the CRDMPrepare sightline ergonomic studies to ensure proper locations for video wall/screensCoordinate with outside architects, engineers, and other consultants/vendors as requiredDesign for and review drawings for accuracy and local building code /ADA compliance before submissionUnderstanding of the requirements for obtaining development and building permitsPerform detailed site surveys for accurate as-built drawings of existing spacesDesign custom millwork and provide schematic drawings to millwork contractors for the basis of their shop drawings and review these for accuracyCoordinate with Evans Regional Sales Managers, Project Management and Modelling groups as required for console and millwork design and layoutCreate Color Board finish options customized to each project for approval by clientSchedule 3D renderings and provide clear and concise instructions, markups, and detailed 3D models to the rendering team for timely and realistic resultsResearch and compile construction materials and productsCollaborate with design manager to ensure project success as measured by client satisfaction and completed work qualityCoordinate with on-site subcontractors on any discrepancies between the drawings and field conditionsPrepare project design schedules based on current workloads and client needsUpdate and maintain internal Project Tracking report for assigned ProjectsCompetencies and Behaviours RequiredDemonstrated proficiency using and managing Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Reader/Writer & Presentation softwareKnowledge of other relevant 3D programs an assetConsistently able to meet deadlines and schedulesMust work well independently with minimal supervisionAbility to multi-task and handle multiple projects simultaneouslyExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsMotivated to develop and take on more responsibility to grow within the departmentAttention to detailHandle working at a fast pace and under pressure when requiredStrong organizational and problem-solving skillsEducational Requirements2-year Diploma in Architectural Technologies or equivalent3 -5 years of experience as an Architectural TechnologistProficiency in Revit is a mustExperience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Adobe AcrobatKnowledge of Autodesk Inventor and integration with Revit
