Architectural Technician

you will work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team from within LWPAC and Intelligent City through key phases of projects. Under the supervision of the LWPAC Architectural team and working in conjunction with the Intelligent City BIM team, you will be involved in supporting the team in various BIM-related tasks as well as providing support in design management duties on mixed-use residential buildings, using our mass timber building platform.

Collaboration, communication and self-motivation are essential, as you will work with a multi-disciplinary team within Intelligent City and LWPAC, as well as clients, consultants, and relevant authorities. This position reports to the Associate Directors, and works collaboratively with multiple individuals within our multi-disciplinary team. We are accepting applications from within the lower mainland, BC only. Education & Qualifications, Required:

Post-secondary education in architectural technology/drafting, or a related field preferred. Skills & Experience, Required:

Experience in architectural design, with proven knowledge of general architectural practice and process Proven ability to produce clear and complete drawing sets using the Revit Good understanding of building systems and technology Experience with computational architectural design processes and digital manufacturing processes Familiarity with BCBC and OBC Nice to Haves:

Knowledge of BC Building Code, VBBL, and permitting processes Understanding of construction contract administration policies, procedures and concepts Experience in constructing parametric models for the purposes of facilitating aesthetic design decision-making, integrated data visualization and operations design Experience with Sustainability, LEED. The Role & Responsibilities:

Understand and expand Intelligent City's product offering, collaborating with teams to apply company systems and technologies. Participate in the architectural design process, contributing creative ideas and solutions. Participate in space planning, optimizing space use within buildings. Create 2-D drawings, 3D models, and visualizations using software for design communication. Assist in the production of rezoning, development permit, building permit applications Lead and produce tender and construction documents. Understand and assist in the production of specifications Perform design calculations, sketches, and technical comparisons as needed. Review and mark up design documents for accuracy and compliance. Understand materials, finishes, and construction methods aligned with design goals and regulations. Familiarize with and ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations. Lead quality control and review of all outgoing drawing and document deliverables. Comply with all health and safety rules, policies, and procedures. Comply with our administrative policies and procedures as set forth from time to time. Contribute to team efforts. Complete other duties as we may request which are consistent with your abilities and responsibilities. What you bring to the role:
