This involvesownershipand communicationwith external parties such astheArchitectorStructuralEngineer, whilealsocollaborating with the different functional areas of the business such asMarketing, Purchasing,Design,Finance, Landand/or Constructionto enhance the value of the Mattamy brand.Please note thatalldesign work is completed through external architectsonly.This position reports to theManagerofArchitecture within the OttawaDivision.What you’ll doProvide excellent people leadership to 2-3 direct reports including coaching, performance management, and training.Support departmental goals by assisting team members as directed bythe ArchitecturalDirector.Prepare budgetsandreviewquarterlyestimated cost tocompletereportsforeachrespective community.Manage, review, and process all department invoices, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in payments for work completed.Own and manage the coordination,reviewand revision of architectural drawings to ensuredocumentation complies withbothMattamy standards andOntario Building Code (OBC)requirementsfor building permit purposes.Own and manage the coordination of the revision process of working drawings, structural revisions, municipal review comments, subcontractorcommentsand provide updateddrawings totheConstructionteam.Verify that architecturalworking drawings correspondwith marketing brochures, forward any discrepanciesto the appropriatedepartments.Participate in Value Engineering of newdesigns.Prepare architectural memos, miscellaneous details and/or drawings for our internal staff & external consultants as required.Prepare list of lot upgrades based on Mattamy Homes internal guidelinesand external Architecturalcontrol guidelines and coordinate with architectural firm.Conduct site visits to correct or improve information shown on working drawings, review exterior coloursand detailing.Manage electronicstorage and distribution of Architectural drawings, andconstructiondocumentationEnsure document control and quality procedures arefollowedEnsure adherence of project team members to project plans (e.g., project management plans, schedule, communication plans)Track and report project progress, flagging any watch outs or delays in advance and providing recommendation forsolution.Manage contract relationships ensuring any partnership or quality concerns are addressed in a timely manner and solutions proposed to the Architecture Manager.Prepare project updates for Architecture Manager and Division President on monthlybasisWhat you bringArchitectural Technology Diploma from a Community College or equivalent.Minimum 3yearsconstruction orarchitecturalexperiencerequired.Experience supervising or leading a small team.Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, and visually through use of architectural drawing.Working knowledge and skills with drawing application programs in particular, AutoCAD.Demonstrate proficient computer skills in MS Office applications including Word,Exceland Outlook.Detail-orientatedwith ability to check documents/drawings for accuracy, communicate detailed changes and ensurecorrections arecompleted.Proven track-recordof adapting to and supporting rapid changes and bringing creative solutions to address identifiedchallenges.Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to meet deadlines in afast-pacedenvironment.Ability to coordinate and motivate internaland external stakeholders toward a common goal.Bonus pointsExperience working in residential construction.We encourage applicants who meet most of the role requirements to hit that submit button and apply!
