Job Description

Our client , an environmental consulting firm, is looking for an archeologist who holds a per mit, based on Saskatoon, Saskatchew an. Responsibilities: Identify artifact and feature. Work on HRIA fieldwork including mitigation, pre and post-impact studies, construction monitoring, and baseline surveys, including knowledge of appropriate guidelines and techniques. Pertain to a technical writing and research skills Support with project planning as needed ( from inception to execution of field work through to report preparation) Prepare site evaluation, including assessment and site recording. Laboratory duties such as artifact cleaning, analysis, and cataloging. Permit applications. Qualifications: Must have a graduate degree in archaeology or anthropology and be able to hold an archaeological permit in the province of Saskatchewan (permit holding capabilities in Manitoba and Alberta would be an asset). Have a good knowledge of government guidelines, protocols, and regulations, as well as provincial legislation. Has experience planning and executing archaeology projects. Holds a valid driver’s license. Be willing/able to work in adverse weather and challenging field conditions. (Fieldwork and travel (including remote or isolated areas) is required.) Must have superior communication skills; be dedicated to high-quality results; be a team player; be highly motivated and have a positive attitude. Must be able to correspond with clients, contractors, and stakeholders (including First Nations, government, regulatory agencies, and landowners) in a professional way. Be able to manage time effectively, both independently and in team environments, and be dedicated to high-quality results.
