We are seeking an Aquatic Ecologist with depth of experience in regulatory frameworks and permitting: a technical professional who thrives on bringing the pieces together and being a go-to project coordinator. Experience and Qualifications: ● Minimum of five years of experience consulting in Aquatic Ecology, or equivalent industry experience;● Skilled at scoping and developing aquatic field programs;● Comprehensive understanding of the Ontario Endangered Species Act and federal Species at Risk Act as they apply to aquatic species at risk;● Demonstrated proficiency preparing Information Gathering Forms, Avoidance Alternative Forms and Overall Benefit Permits;● Experience with provincial and federal environmental regulatory procedures (environmental impact assessments/studies, due diligence studies, habitat restoration) and natural heritage policies in Ontario; ● Experience with DFO Requests for Review and Authorizations under the federal Fisheries Act; ● Desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; and,● Strong written and verbal communication skills.
