Location:

While remote work options are available, this role is primarily based at our client's Edmonton, AB facility, offering convenient on-site parking and access to public transportation. Position Overview:

Our client is seeking a dynamic seniorApplications Engineer to lead estimating activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in assembling firm bid proposals for our client's extensive product line. With a focus on maintaining long-term client relationships, this role requires a customer-centric approach and effective collaboration within a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Sales/Account Managers to ensure client expectations and RFP requirements are met.
  • Work closely with Mechanical, E&I, and Process Engineering teams to develop proposal designs.
  • Complete accurate cost estimates and formal quotations for our client's product lines.
  • Coordinate with sub-suppliers for equipment quotations and review proposals on technical and commercial aspects.
  • Provide technical support to various functional groups during project execution, fostering continuous improvement and efficiency.
  • Make recommendations for process enhancements and value-added solutions.
  • Prepare piping/instrument diagrams (P&IDs) and preliminary general arrangements.
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all proposals in adherence to RFP specifications.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with an Engineering Degree or Technical Diploma.
  • Strong knowledge of gas processing and fabrication, including plant layout and equipment design.
  • Familiarity with industry codes such as ASME Section VIII and B31.3.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Ability to interpret mass and heat balances/process design.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting technical data sheets and drawings.
  • AutoCAD experience preferred.
