While remote work options are available, this role is primarily based at our client's Edmonton, AB facility, offering convenient on-site parking and access to public transportation. Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a dynamic seniorApplications Engineer to lead estimating activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in assembling firm bid proposals for our client's extensive product line. With a focus on maintaining long-term client relationships, this role requires a customer-centric approach and effective collaboration within a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Sales/Account Managers to ensure client expectations and RFP requirements are met.
- Work closely with Mechanical, E&I, and Process Engineering teams to develop proposal designs.
- Complete accurate cost estimates and formal quotations for our client's product lines.
- Coordinate with sub-suppliers for equipment quotations and review proposals on technical and commercial aspects.
- Provide technical support to various functional groups during project execution, fostering continuous improvement and efficiency.
- Make recommendations for process enhancements and value-added solutions.
- Prepare piping/instrument diagrams (P&IDs) and preliminary general arrangements.
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all proposals in adherence to RFP specifications.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience with an Engineering Degree or Technical Diploma.
- Strong knowledge of gas processing and fabrication, including plant layout and equipment design.
- Familiarity with industry codes such as ASME Section VIII and B31.3.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Word.
- Ability to interpret mass and heat balances/process design.
- Experience in reading and interpreting technical data sheets and drawings.
- AutoCAD experience preferred.
