We’re looking for a for an experienced product developer to play a leading role in the Apparel development at Pehr. As the Product Development Manager in Apparel, you will be responsible for managing the complete development process by collaborating closely with the Director of Product Development, Merchandisers, Technical Design and Vendors. This role requires a solution-based mindset, and ensures that design integrity, product quality, and target price are maintained and that products are developed on schedule and delivered within the allocated timeline. You will carefully guard pricing and margin while still ensuring the product exudes thoughtful design and flawless execution. Your apparel expertise will showcase your understanding of a variety of fabrications, silhouettes and trim details. Your in-depth understanding of the Pehr philosophy will allow you to lead the process of transforming ideas into tangible apparel products. Always finding the balance and ensuring adherence to our core pillars: playful sophistication, attention to detail, timeless quality and sustainability What you’ll be doing With guidance from Director of Product Development, you will work in partnership with Technical Design from initial concept to maintaining product lifecycle. Provide expert knowledge on all fabric qualities and limitations, manufacturing process and compliance regulations Ensure all testing requirements are completed in collaboration with Technical Design based on our standard protocols. Communicate all relevant sourcing and style information to vendors through use of the PLM system and tech packs along with launch dates to ensure clear understanding of critical path. Collaborate and finalize technical packages, focusing on BOM and Tech Pack updates for production and ensure accuracy to all agents. Determine best construction options during fittings in tandem with Technical Designers Propose changes and development/ production perspectives to improve products, meet target costs, and ensure successful commercialization. Assist onboarding new factories & support the execution of sustainable initiatives Perform root cause analysis and communicate findings; recommending solutions to resolve issues. Anticipate and identify potential obstacles and issues from all aspects of development, costing & delivery. Develop and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with design, planning, marketing and wholesale teams regarding changes / discrepancies / on time delivery etc. Groom and manage PD Apparel Associate, providing feedback, coaching and setting KPIs Review the production calendar daily in adherence to Pehr’s product launch calendar with the focus on solving production issues to meet calendar timelines. Qualifications 2-5 years' experience in apparel or fashion design, product development or a similar type of role. A Bachelor's degree or diploma in apparel production, fashion, or a related field is highly preferred. Experience working with PLM software. Proficiency in Microsoft office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.). Excellent problem solving skills Excellent communication and organization skills. Strong time management skills to meet tight deadlines. Proven ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Attention to Detail Experience in Apparel Compliance Standards for North America, Europe and United Kingdom. Hands-on experience with garment measurements, POM, and grading would be an asset Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator.
