PRIVATE EQUITY / VENTURE CAPITAL ANALYST  MKB is a private investment firm that provides growth equity to companies driving the energy transition through innovation in the clean energy, mobility, built environment and related industrial sectors.   As one of Canada’s first dedicated energy transition investment firms, MKB has been supporting sector leaders for over a decade. The scale of the opportunity at hand has since grown, and MKB is well positioned to seize upon the current environment and help shape, invest in, and fast-track the decarbonization of the global economy.   We are currently seeking a full-time analyst to join our growing team. Our ideal candidate is curious, proactive, and driven with an interest in climate tech and sustainability. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain direct exposure to investment decision-making and transactions in innovative and growing markets. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic, enthusiastic, and diverse team with invaluable experience while contributing to a cleaner future. Role & Responsibilities:   The Analyst will work directly with the investment team on all facets of current and prospective investments, with a particular focus on the following tasks:  Research and analysis of sector companies and the energy, mobility, built environment, and related industrial markets Provide portfolio analysis including consolidated financial analysis, operational benchmarking, company valuation modelling, ongoing review against original investment thesis, industry developments, among others Actively participating in due diligence, including preparing memos, presentations, reports, and proposals Support of business development and pipeline management Write content and contribute to MKB’s marketing strategies (e.g., newsletter, blogs)  Contribute to the ESG and impact policies and reporting Review and analyze legal documentation related to investment opportunities Develop new monitoring systems and processes Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, and actively network with clients and potential investors  Support team members with any other tasks/responsibilities  Qualifications & Skills: Undergraduate degree with outstanding academic performance in either Finance, Commerce, Engineering, Math, Arts & Sciences, or related sector fields 1-2 years of experience in management consultancy, venture capital / private equity, investment management, investment banking, STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) or climate-tech sector related role Strong quantitative skills   Ability to construct financial models to allow for the analysis and valuation of investment opportunities  Other technical finance skills, such as cap table analysis and investment memorandum creation (considered an asset) Demonstrated interest and/or commitment to areas of renewable energy, next generation transportation, and sustainability (work experience in these areas considered an asset) Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills  Self-starter and entrepreneurial drive to participate in a growing business  Ability to synthesize information and solve complex problems creatively Detail oriented and highly organized  Adaptability and performs well in a fast-paced environment    Outstanding work ethic, dependable and extremely motivated Capable of working well both independently and as part of a team  What We Offer  An opportunity to learn, grow professionally, and be a part of an entrepreneurial and ambitious team while making a positive impact on the climate  Annual allocation for professional development Career advancement with demonstrated performance Healthcare plan (medical, dental, vision, long term disability, etc.)  Paid Time Off benefits (vacation, personal, parental leave) Hybrid work arrangement   Eligibility Requirements: Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident Proficient in English  If applying for a position in Montreal, full professional proficiency in French is essential  MKB welcomes diverse backgrounds and experience.
