Within the HRI, there is a specialized unit consisting of subject matter experts and investigators with accountabilities for conducting investigation of Production Orders, Grid Alerts, referrals from Bank Crime Prevention and Investigation Framework (BCPIF) and other referrals relating to financial crime including money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions, fraud, anti-bribery, and anti-corruption.The AML Financial Crime Risk Senior Investigator (Production orders, BCPIF, Grid Alerts) reports to the Group Manager AML Financial Crime Investigations (Production Orders, BCPIF, Grid Alerts).The AML Financial Crime Risk Senior Investigator (Production Orders, BCPIF, Grid Alerts) is responsible for:Conducting complex end to end AML investigations specifically relating to Production Orders, BCPIF, Grid alerts, and other referrals while applying reasonable grounds to suspect money laundering, terrorist financing and other financial crimes.Additionally, the AML Financial Crime Risk Senior Investigator (Production Orders, BCPIF, Grid Alerts) is responsible for the mitigation of risk such as recommendation to freeze/demarket/ exit relationships, timely and/or without delay regulatory reporting of potential money laundering and terrorist financing activities.May at times provide quality control/review and mentorship of a team.The AML Financial Crime Risk Senior Investigator (Production Orders, BCPIF, Grid Alerts) assists with the oversight of the Production Orders, BCPIF, and Grid alerts program while partnering with internal and external stakeholders including law enforcement, corporate security, working with other group managers and investigators to ensure the controls are designed and operating effectively to mitigate the risk and compliance with regulatory requirements as well as the Banks systems of internal controls.Job Description CUSTOMER Conduct a variety of complex investigations, including AML, Sanctions/ABAC and Financial Crime investigations relating to relating to Production Orders, Grid Alerts, referrals from Bank Crime Prevention and Investigation Framework (BCPIF) and other referrals relating followed by determination of unusual and/or suspicious activities for regulatory reporting as well as risk mitigation such as demarketing of relationships and accounts.Ensure regulatory reporting is conducted promptly and/or without delay while adhering to regulatory requirements and internal controls.Assist with reviewing and investigating Production Orders and Grid alerts issued by law enforcement agencies related to criminal actions.Ensure the regulatory reporting is conducted in a timely manner and/or without delay while adhering to regulatory requirements and internal controls.Apply sound methodologies to collect, preserve, and analyze evidence while staying current on global emerging risks and technology threats.Assess and prioritize files and investigate assigned cases ensuring proper protocols are in place and effectively applied.Work effectively with internal and external stakeholders at other financial institutions, law enforcement agencies, and others in government within prescribed protocols to maximize opportunities for information sharing and to reduce TDBFG exposure.Conduct investigations in a professional and timely manner.Identify and communicate procedural weaknesses to businesses.Identify industry and typologies risk and trends for respective program areas and share knowledge with appropriate stakeholders.Maintain and establish working relationships with internal partners (e.g., HR, Legal, corporate security, etc.) for investigative purposes.Investigative analysis by collecting, assessing, and collating case file information for AML, Sanctions/ABAC & Financial Crime investigations. SHAREHOLDER Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders including Corporate Security, Legal, Human Resources.Patriciate in forums, working groups and other established task force while representing the HRI to ensure information is shared among various stakeholders in a timely, concise, and accurate manner.Lead work streams by acting as a project lead for large or complex projects / initiatives in accordance with project management methodologies.Consistently exercise discretion in managing correspondence, information, and all matters of confidentiality; escalate issues where appropriate.Evaluate the effectiveness of processes/services and recommend/champion possible enhancements.Recommend improvements to escalation processes within the investigative unit and a feedback mechanism to relevant stakeholders.Plan and deliver efficient and cost-effective processes that support and promote the implementation of programs.Conduct internal and external research projects; support the development/ delivery of presentations / communications to management or broader audience.Monitor service, productivity and assess efficiency levels within own function and implement continuous process/performance improvements where opportunities exist.Consistently exercise discretion in managing correspondence, information, and all matters of confidentiality; escalate issues where appropriate.Protect the interests of the organization – identify and manage risks and ensure the prompt and thorough resolution of escalated non-standard, high-risk issues.Run analysis at the functional or enterprise level using results to draw conclusions, make recommendations, assess the effectiveness of programs/ policies/ practices.Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts.Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite.
