About the Role

Responsible for all aspects of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and effective change management for assigned program(s) and continuous improvements of all products/processes developed and produced at Techform.

Your Responsibilities

Customer Support

  • Lead/Participate/Approve Customer Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) supporting program timing
  • Ensures all Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) requirements are known/tracked/adhered to using planned milestones
  • Review Government Approvals required and develop Inspection Standard (where required)
  • Leads Plant trials for Engineering changes, Tool Moves, and New Program Launches
  • Lead problem solving for applicable Launch quality concerns (pre-SOP ie. customer specific reports: 8D, 7 Step, 5 Phase, Is/Is Not, 6 Panel, etc.)
  • Participate in Warranty reviews (where applicable)
  • Manages applicable new model launch (pre-SOP) field support to ensure effective containment and timely closure of issues

Advanced Internal Activities

  • Coordinate and participate in Internal/Supplier Drawing Reviews
  • Prepare and complete Control Plans following MQS 7 control plan management
  • Prepare and complete component Receiving Inspection Matrix and Instructions
  • Develop Product Validation (PV) Plan (schedule) including reliability and confidence (R&C) requirements in accordance with Program timing
  • Develop, implement safe launch plans for new program launches
  • Participate in Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) review and team sign off
  • Participate and verify BOM is correct and accurate during program launch
  • Facilitate supplier deviation requests (i.e. Supplier Request for Change Deviation SRCD’s) through closure with the supply base
  • Coordinate and participate in Early Supplier Involvement with Design and Purchasing
  • Adhere to all Platform Execution Process (PEP)/Program Planning requirements and expectations
  • Develop Customer attachment/contact point list
  • Coordinate and ensure signoff/concurrence of control plan/customer attachment point checklist
  • Review Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD & T), requirements (Finished Goods / Components)
  • Prepare and present Launch Readiness panels (LRR)
  • Participate in mapping including Critical Characteristics review and ensure compliance
  • Participate in Document Linkage Review
  • Review lessons learned database and add as necessary
  • Establish Supplier PPAP timing and review/approve on time prior to Product Validation requirements (PV testing)
  • Supports pre-production builds

Testing

  • Conduct PV test fixture verification and set up review
  • Ensure proper level test parts are built and delivered to test lab (including safe launch)
  • Periodic review of in-process testing
  • Post test set-up and results signoff
  • Test Incident Report (TIR) response and resolution for PV
  • Carry out annual validation testing as required by customer
  • Leads TIR investigation, prepares 8D report and ensures timely closure of issues (PV)

Other

  • Participates in quality systems audits with customer and external auditors as required
  • Perform other duties as required

Who we are looking for

Your preferred qualifications

  • Completion of community college diploma/certificate.
  • 3 to less than 5 years of work related experience.
  • Completion of a post-secondary education program in mechanical/quality engineering
  • ASQC certification as a quality engineer (CQE) preferred
  • Tier I automotive experience preferred
