POSITION:ADMINISTRATIVE TECHNICIAN – CAPITAL INVESTMENT

DEPARTMENT:MATERIAL RESOURCES

SALARY:FROM $24.21 TO $32.32 AN HOUR DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Kativik Ilisarniliriniq (KI) is a school board offering educational services in the 14 communities of Nunavik.

FUNCTION & DUTIES:

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Capital Investment, this employee supports the Capital investment management team with all of the file keeping, accounting and other related technical task involved in project management for the school board:

  • Manage and monitor project documents;
  • Enter accounting data for billing purposes;
  • Organize and coordinate meetings;
  • Creation and coordination of documents and correspondence for internal and external contacts;
  • Record keeping of documents and correspondence related to the administration of the service;
  • Prepare and distribute reports pertaining to the service;
  • Reservations and travel arrangements;
  • May be requested to train less experienced employees,
  • Other tasks as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

College diploma (DEC) or other diploma or attestation of studies recognized as being equivalent.

4 years of related experience.

The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the afore-mentioned qualifications if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement (JBNQA) and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Fluent in oral and written English and French;
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office;
  • Construction project file keeping and project accounting experience is a must;
  • Knowledge of the tendering process and documents is a must;
  • Knowledge of the tendering process through SEAO is an asset;
  • Strong teamwork abilities;
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines;
  • Dynamic, strong time management skills organized and ability to prioritize.

WORK SCHEDULE: Monday to Friday, 35 hours/week.

CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:

In accordance with the AENQ collective agreement for support staff, this position belongs to job category 4211: from $24.21 to $32.32 an hour depending on qualification and experience. All benefits are prorated based on the percentage of the task.
