Job Description
We are looking for aFinancial Analyst for a 12-month contract position,with possible extensions in Calgary, Alberta. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Hybrid schedule, at least 4 days in the office. 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week. It is NOT a remote role.
Role Description
Our client is looking for a Financial Analyst. The main functions of a financial analyst are to gather and analyze financial information; will typically conduct quantitative analyses of information affecting investment programs of public or private institutions. A typical financial analyst is responsible for analyzing and communicating financial information for clients.
Responsibilities:
- MD&A Analysis including Downstream Supplemental
- Income Analysis (Operating Cost and Capital)
- Quarterly Reporting Segment Review
- External reporting support for Planning, Downstream management team and refining consolidation.
- Annual external reporting
- Board package support
- AIF Review
- Gross Margin and market capture analysis Communication and coordination with the site teams and corporate support functions to maintain standardization and governance.
- Build and maintain dashboards in various platforms such as SharePoint and Power BI.
- Reporting validation and support
- Travel required (10-20%)
Qualifications: - Degree in Finance, commerce, or Economics. CPA and/or MBA is preferred
- Ability to conduct deep analysis, digitalize reports, creating and developing repeatable
and standardized business processes - 5 years of financial experience
- Understanding of Downstream operations and manufacturing
- Proficient use of all Microsoft Office applications
- Proficient use of SAP and Business Warehouse
- Ability to digitalize data using platforms such as SharePoint and Power BI
- Strong Financial Acumen
- Strong understanding of refinery operations, marketing or trading.
- Strong analytical skills in modelling and financial analysis
- Strong ability to lead through influence.
- Strong communication skills (Written and Verbal)
- Ability to foster and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
